| Brett Says: | This year? Yes, I think the Bucks would be better off with the more seasoned Lawson. And it is Bogut who is the man behind their surprising playoff run. Jennings has a lot of potential, but right now I'd take Ty. Maybe next year my answer is different. | ||
| Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:59 pm |
| Ballinquent Says: | Do you think that if Ty Lawson was placed on the Bucks, he'd do a better job in Brandon Jennings' role? A lot of people are saying that Jennings is a waaaay better player than Ty Law and that hes the man behind the Bucks having the 7th seed? | ||

| Brett Says: | I may have mentioned it previously, but I have always been a Jamison fan (despite how he torched Duke at UNC) - he is a unique talent in the way he can score the basketball. Adding him could certainly improve the Bobcats, though how much would depend on the cost of acquiring him. Not sure if it elevates them to elite level as the Bobcats would still not boast a talent on the level of Kobe, LeBron, Dwight, Duncan/Ginobili, etc. | ||
| Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:55 pm |
| Connor D Says: | Bring Antawn Jamison back to NC! I've always thought he was the best player on the wizards and was my favorite UNC basketball player. The Bobcats would love the scoring he would bring to the front court rotation and I'm convinced he would buy into the defense-first mentality of a Larry Brown team. With Antawn Jamison is it fair to call the Cats elite Eastern team? Maybe even capable of upsetting one of the big 4 in the east... |
||
| Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:03 pm |
| Brett Says: | Connor, my concern would be losing front court depth...though this trade would obviously being made with an eye to the future, as the Bobcats would either be resigning Boozer or creating some cap space sooner than anticipated. I doubt management throws in the towel on this season which is kind of how I would see giving up two starters to get one. | ||
| Fri Jan 08, 2010 10:17 pm |
| Connor Says: | Hey, what do you think of this hypothetical trade by Bill Simmons (that I noticed from his Twitter account). Fake Trade No. 1: Boozer/Korver expirings to Charlotte for Diaw/Chandler (both expire 2011). Knocks Utah under tax, Char still under. |

| Connor Says: | Thanks for the speedy response Brett. I was fairly sure that my thoughts were largely off-base, but felt compelled to share them. You make excellent points, and I feel inclined to agree with them. I over-rated our players a bit (as bias fans tend to do) especially after a handful of strong performances by Raymond and a body of work by Cap'n Jack. (I forgot about Melo and still put him ahead of Pierce- yet another bias perspective though.) Thanks again though, hopefully they can keep it together and get us a playoff appearance. You know the NBA's catchphrase- "Where Amazing Happens." |

| Brett Says: | Really, really good is tough to quantify - I do not see them being a legitimate threat to the current top-4 - Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando this season and with Stephen Jackson already in his 30s, their window of opportunity is small. Gerald Wallace may well be an all-star caliber player (and you left out Melo in your list of small forwards - and I would have to think very hard about Paul Pierce, despite his age - just off-hand) but Jackson and Raymond are not. Even with Ray's improved play this year, he sits at a PER of 15. Tonight the trio combined for 13 turnovers - and until this group learns to limit that, they are limited overall - their great defense can only carry them so far. But having 5 role players on the court together can work defensively, but it leads to turnovers offensively - players doing more than they are capable. Ceiling that I see for them (barring extreme luck in the lotto) is 5th or 6th in the conference. |

| Connor Says: | Hey Brett, am I crazy for believing the triumvirate of Felton, Wallace, and Jackson could actually be really, really good? Felton and Jackson's play seem to complement each other, and I know this is during halftime of the Piston's game, but Felton seems to be on FIRE. I may be jumping the gun, but he seems to be coming into his own. Wallace is Wallace, who I really believing is becoming an elite player. You may not agree, pundits may not agree, but from what I've seen, he is phenomenal. Besides LeBron and Durant, I can't think (off the top of my head) and better SF. If we had a C who could play some offense and a PF who can rebound, I honestly believe they could be an elite team in the Eastern Conference. I'm likely way off, and you're sure to disagree, but I'd love to hear your opinion on this. | ||

| Cam Ron Says: | Yes but it seems like charlotte is 1 or two guys from making a long awaited playoff run. MJ has the money but not the skills as a GM/Owner | ||
| Sun Nov 08, 2009 11:18 pm |
| Brett Says: | Cam Ron - With the Bobcats sitting at 13 players for next season, I do not see them being an active player in the free agent market. With the team looking to cut costs, going with the bare minimum players is an easy (if frustrating) fix. I do hold a sliver of hope that they will surprise us, but I think the only new players we will have in CLT will be the two rookies. | ||

| Cam Ron Says: | what do you think of the lack or freeagent moves by the bobcats. it seems like everyone else is making huge deals and we are sitting around watching | ||

| Druconn Says: | We have a good young core of guys. We just need to get over that hump. I am going to watch the Nike Hoop Summit to see what the future holds for us. KG, Bargnani, Kevin Love, Derek Rose... you name em... they played in the game. Yahoo Sports is doing a live webcast on April 11th of the game. |

| DulosCephas Says: | Well I think we got a really good player for Morrison. Unfortunately as discussed above Morrison will not likely get any playing time with the Lakers instead it will be Shannon Brown. Brown was a person I had not expected to see in a trade, but given his athletic nature and the fact that both his and Morrison's contract gave the Lakers a lot of maneuverability we got a great player from the deal. In fact I think getting Vlad was a flat out steal for the Bobcats. You can not help but to be excited that the team seems to be working so well together with out two major starters (granted the teams we played where weak). DJ Augustine I think is a major reason why the team looks so good. "The Kid" ( I think is a good nickname for him) can flat out play team ball and score points doing it. He consistency at the foul line comes up big in close games and makes up for a lot in game. It also makes even a poor shooting night from the floor disappear if he is at the line enough. I can not wait to see what Larry Brown line ups will look like during the remainder of the season. Emeka, Daiw, Wallace, Bell, and Felton of course at starters but now we have some depth with Diop, Howard, Martin, Vlad, DJ all able to contribute. Go Cats! |

| DulosCephas Says: | Connor I must aggree with you. I said that he will become a good player, I did not say that it would be with the bobcats. I like you would love to see him catch fire, but I think that LB dose not trust him. I would not surprised to see him put in a package deal as the Trade Deadline appoaches. | ||
| Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:54 am |
| Connor Says: | Sorry to dissappoint you Dulos, but Adam's time has passed. He has lost all the confidence he had and just does not have a role on this team any longer. The Cats can't throw him into the game and hope he catches on, because anytime they put him in he instantly becomes an offensive and defensive burden that could cost the team the game. Tonight for instance, he came in with the scrubs to pick up some mop up minutes and did nothing. Even with nothing on the line, he still can not produce at all. I would love nothing more than to see Morrison become a decent bench producer, but a change of scenery is the only thing that can save him now. He will not and should not see more minutes the rest of the season, since DJ, Shannon Brown, and even Singletary I trust can produce better than Morrison. If Adam can suddenly catch on and prove me wrong with an explosive performance to regain his confidence, I will gladly be wrong. But as I see it now, Larry won't let him play much as his small production as dwindled to nearly nothing in the last few days. |

| DulosCephas Says: | I think that May will not be able to get on the warm side of Larry Brown. May was told that he must get back to his collegiate weight of 260 before he would be able to play. The only problem is that May is a big boy and lost a lot weight to get to 270. If May is not traded before the trade deadline I would be a little surprised. May has said himself that he believes he has able to play for 7 min stretches . Brown believes he is to sluggish to play. The trouble comes in trying to find a trading partner that is willing to take a risk on him. Adam Morrison for some reason I believe will become a good player. He has a toughness and passion that can only come from within. His fault is he is not to good of a defensive player, and he dose not take enough shots to justify court time. He like Carroll is a rhythm shooter. He needs time on the court to get his grove on. When he is hot, he can be smoking, but it is hard to get that fire a going. Either way I like Morrison he seems like a player that will just get better with time, as Bell did. |

| Rob Says: | The 1 thing that has improved with the Bobcats is their ability to close out games....even back to last year we were in a lot of games going into the 4th qtr but we didn't seal the deal...i think the team is beginning to buy into LB's regardless what happens "don't panic" strategy and it has served them well...i say don't trade Ray or Gerald...lets dump Adam and Sean..they have a nice core group who would be even better with a better bench... | ||

| DulosCephas Says: | Hey I am glad to have found this blog. I have been following the Cats since they came to NC and I am glad to see that they are starting to pick it up in game play. It is good to see a place where fans and talk about their team. I am excited to see that the Bobcats are played with a high energy every night. They are expecting to win now. I am glad to seem them also become so strong on defense, when the pressure from many is to make a team Razzle and Dazzle as it said. I hope to see us reach 40 for wins this year at least. | ||

Pre-Concusion(s) Wallace was the best player on the Cats, Post-Concusion(s) Wallace is now the 2nd best player after J-Rich. Stop complaining and be happy we have him and not some piece of trash like Shawn Marion | ||

| QUINCY Says: | i am <not pleased> (Brett's edit) at the charlotte bobcats. gerald wallace is the biggest joke. someone tell him to go go back to and1 or wherever the <mall> (Brett's edit) he came from. he is a ballhog who takes way to many shots, misses them all, and he is always hurt. we dont need him taking jumpers that is what carrol and richardson and felton are for. the last ten games (as of today) the bobcats were 5-0 at the beggining of the week. take note that wallace didnt play in any of those games. than wallace came back from his concusion, and the bobcats then went 0-6.i hate gerald wallace!!! BOBCATS LAST ELEVEN GAMES: WITH GERALD WALLACE: 0-6 WITHOUT: 5-0 GET RID OF GERALD WALLACE!!!!! |

| Brett Says: | I'm still alive, just in case there was concern. And I'm not quitting...just struggling to be motivated right now, since (according to Hollinger) the team has a less than 5% chance of making the playoffs. I did fix the stats page so that there is not all the wasted space for other teams. And I replaced the link to the roster on the main page with one to the stats page - I hope to incorporate some of the roster type info into the stats page soon. | ||
