Celtics Prevail Despite Missing Big 3

Boston Celtics 94 Final
Recap | Box Score
82 Charlotte Bobcats
D.J. White, PF 28 MIN | 5-9 FG | 3-5 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 13 PTS | -15

White has played well against the Celtics this season, but had a pretty mediocre night with only 13 points and 3 rebounds in 28 minutes.

Derrick Brown, F 35 MIN | 6-10 FG | 2-2 FT | 7 REB | 0 AST | 15 PTS | -5

Brown continues his consistent play and is proving that he can be a foundational franchise player next season.

Bismack Biyombo, C 29 MIN | 2-10 FG | 5-6 FT | 7 REB | 0 AST | 9 PTS | +6

With the season coming to a close and the Bobcats playoff dreams dashed, Biyombo is gaining valuable experience that will serve him well in his career. That said, going 2-10 from the field speaks to Biyombo’s youth and relative inexperience.

Gerald Henderson, G 35 MIN | 10-19 FG | 2-2 FT | 3 REB | 5 AST | 22 PTS | -12

Henderson continues to prove his worth both offensively and defensively. Exceeding his season average offensive efficiency tonight, Henderson simply does not have the supporting talent to create wins.

D.J. Augustin, PG 27 MIN | 1-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 10 AST | 2 PTS | -14

Augustin was no match for Rondo tonight. Despite 10 assists, DJ had only 2 points and 4 rebounds in 27 minutes.

Jamario Moon, SF 13 MIN | 0-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 PTS | -7

Welcome back to the NBA Jamario Moon. Not a great game for Moon, but he seems to be excited to play with the Cats saying, “I’m thinking of this as an audition and I’m going to play my legs off.”

Byron Mullens, C 22 MIN | 3-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 6 PTS | -16

Mullens has fallen out of the starting lineup and did not prove tonight why he deserves to be back in it.

Three Things We Saw

  1. It speaks to the quality of play that the Celtics could beat the Bobcats without Garnett, Pierce and Allen who, on average, contribute 49.2 points per game.
  2. Individuals in attendance of tonight’s game at Time Warner Cable Arena could get a free ticket to tomorrow night’s game against the Hornets. Seriously? No comment.
  3. The Bobcats matched their season high 16 game losing streak tonight. If the Bobcats lose every game for the rest of the season they will close out with a 23 game losing streak. An homage to their faithful owner?

I don’t understand your rating system, how does a guy with no points, nothing contributed get A+?
