Las Vegas Summer League- Game 4: Bobcats vs Nuggets Preview

Tonight the Bobcats will try and keep their undefeated summer league record alive when they face off with a Denver squad that carries a 1-2 record in Vegas so far this summer.

It is unclear whether or not Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will return to the floor tonight. MKG has now missed the past two summer league games with a sore knee, but holding him out of games seems to be nothing but a precautionary measure on the Bobcats part at this point. Many reports have suggested that the injury is nothing serious at all and that MKG has actually been taking part in team practices.

After Byron Mullens exploded for 33 points against Minnesota in Tuesday night’s summer league game, Mullens now leads the team in scoring through three games. Byron is averaging 20.7 PPG and 7.7 RPG so far this summer and further cementing the point that the 7-footer can flat out score the rock. Question is, what position should he be playing come regular season- PF or Center? Tonight should be a good test for Mullens on the block as he’ll be matched up against 7’1 Solomon Alabi, a 3rd year professional out of Florida State.

The Nuggets roster is headlined by second year Kenneth Faried (Morehead St.), Jordan Hamilton (Texas) and Denver’s 2nd round pick this summer, Evan Fournier (France). Hamilton leads the team in scoring so far this summer at 19 PPG while Faried is doing damage of his own by putting up 13 PPG & 11.5 RPG.
