Starting Lineups
- Both teams are coming off losses to the Hawks – but the Bobcats’ loss was last night, while the Wizards have had Thanksgiving and Black Friday to recuperate. The Bobcats have to maintain their energy level tonight, as their defense is based on frenetic pressure (which leads to transition baskets for their sprinters, Kemba, Ramon, and MKG).
- The Bobcats are probably somewhat sympathetic of the Wizards’ current plight, as Washington is currently 0-10 on the season. The Bobcats remember what last season was like, and the media attention that comes from being unusually bad. With that said, they don’t want to be the team that gives the Wiz their first win.
- With Bismack Biyombo twisting his ankle last night, and Ben Gordon possibly a bit hobbled by his knee contusion (see his bad shooting night last night), the Bobcats are starting to thin out a bit, since they already have two longer term injuries in Gerald Henderson and Tyrus Thomas. So far Hakim Warrick hasn’t gotten much time for the Bobcats, but Mike Dunlap may have his hand forced a bit.
- The Wizards are another team that is going with a more college-like lineup – 3 guards, a small forward and a power forward. That’s partly out of necessity for them as well, as they are dealing with their own injury issues. It will allow the Bobcats to use one of their seemingly preferred lineups, with Ben Gordon, Kemba Walker, and Ramon Sessions covering the perimiter, and MKG shifted down to the 4.
wow they’re bringing nene and okafor off the bench. crazy. i know it hurts that wall is out but this team is desperately searching for an identity. even with wall. i think shabazz is the best fit for them to draft next year but don’t tell them i said it. let them mess up another young big. they are lost like we were pre- cho/dunlap. really thought with their moves that they would be playoff bound this year as an 8 seed and get swept. had the makings of our 2009 team.
hope biyombo is good to go. last thing we need is another big down and diop playing heavy minutes. it’s not about wins this year, but playing diop hurts the development of the other 4 guys on the floor PLUS takes away minutes that would have been better suited going to thomas or biyombo.
taylor another career high?
We need this game, maybe the turkey will wear off, Bobcats by 10
