1- FACT or FICTION. Gerald Henderson is expected to return tonight for the first time since injuring his right hamstring in Portland on February 1, but Coach Silas has stated that he will bring Henderson off the bench. Hendo will play 20+ minutes, score 10+ points and pull down 4+ rebounds.

Bryan: FACT. I expect Charlotte to be in this game the entire way, so even if Hendo does come off the bench, Silas will need to play him to win the game. The former Dukie got an extra week off with the All Star break, so he shouldn’t have any lingering problems from his injury. I foresee an efficient 16 point, four rebound, two steal type of night for Henderson against Detroit.

Jenn: Mostly FACT.  With a defensive rebound rate of 11.1 and an offensive rebound rate of 3.7, I am not sure if Hendo will exceed 4 rebounds tonight.  However, I do think he will be eager to help his team tonightsaying, “We’re losing and you always feel like you can do something to help the team.  Then your body just won’t let you”.  Henderson also noted, “(the pain) is almost out of there”.

Mathew: FICTION. I think he gets the minutes, but more than likely falls short of double digit points and/or 4+ rebounds. Keep in mind, Henderson’s uptick in scoring this year has primarily been a result of increased attempts and minutes. With a roster of 15 healthy players for the first time this season, look for his FGA’s to fall off just a bit.

2- ADJUSTMENT. On January 13, Detroit’s front line of Jerebko and Monroe combined for 41 points and 18 rebounds. What adjustment needs to be made on the court tonight in order for Biyombo and Diaw to slow them down?

Bryan: The only adjustment the Bobcats can make is to not let Diaw guard either of those guys. As bad as he’s been, Tyrus Thomas needs to get some burn to try and turn things around, and he could be a difference maker on defense against a weak Pistons team tonight. Biyombo will be fine. He’s slowly learning not to jump at every shot fake the defense throws at him and he’s become an even better rebounder as the season’s worn on.

Jenn: The Bobcats are not well matched for the likes of 6’10” Jerebko and 6’11” Monroe.  Size matters and the Bobcats best bet is to be as aggressive as possible in rebounding, both offensively and defensively.

Mathew: Biyombo needs to stay out of foul trouble. Although he’s still outsized by the bigger Greg Monroe, Bismack Biyombo presents the toughest matchup for the talented big man. Limiting Jerebko is a concern as well, but if Biyombo can stay out of foul trouble and effectively limit Monroe’s presence in the paint it will go a long way towards helping the Bobcats earn their fifth win of the season.

3- PREDICTION. The Bobcats will have a full 15-man roster available for the first time this season tonight. Any chance that being full strength will push Charlotte over the top on the road?

Bryan: I’ll take the Bobcats in this one. We haven’t seen Charlotte play with a healthy roster all year, and tonight I think this team proves that their abysmal first half record had more to do with injured talent than a lack thereof. Don’t count on Silas’s squad giving up and bowing out on the rest of the season for a chance at drafting Anthony Davis, either; The ‘Cats play 20 of their final 34 games against teams with losing records.

Jenn: I think a win is definitely possible against 28th ranked Pistons.  Although there are no guarantees that a full roster is a good one, the individual pieces are there to pull out a win.

Mathew: 39.67%. Per my trusty abacus, that is the probability of win tonight for your Charlotte Bobcats. I believe tonight’s game will tell us a lot about each player on this team, however. Regardless of the lack of success so far this season team-wise, any time a player is away from the court for almost a week he should be itching to play. Tonight we’ll find out who really loves to ball.
