Bobcats vs Blazers Recap

Boxscore
Score: 88-74 Portland
Bobcats Record: 19-27 (1.5 games out of 8th)
Game Efficiencies:
Offensive: 89.2
Defensive: 103.5
Meritorious Player: Emeka Okafor – 18 points (11 attempts, 4-6 on fta), 5 rebounds, 1 block in 29 minutes. The only Bobcat to play significant minutes with a positive plus/minus, Emeka was at +1, with a net efficiency of +4.0.

No surprises here: The Bobcats, coming off a double overtime game the night before, missing their best/one of their best players, lost to a very good Portland team. The numbers suggest a tired team, with Charlotte being out-rebounded 45 to 26, their worst margin of the season.

With the 4 starters from last night all playing 46 or more minutes, the Bobcats needed their bench to step up to have a chance. That did not happen, as they combined for 21 points on 25 shots. Adam Morrison went just 2 of 6 in his chance as a starter and Gana Diop had a dough-nut on 5 attempts.

Further bad news for the Bobcats: Gerald is out indefinitely…and D.J. is out another 10 days. That has led the Cats to sign/about to sign Cartier Martin out of the NBADL. I am hoping to have more info on him later in the day for you.
