Quick thoughts:

  • With the Hawks trading away both Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams in the off-season, this is a different Hawks team than the past few years. In an interesting lineup move, they start two point guards, like the Bobcats have so frequently in their short history. This should give Charlotte some latitude defensively to play Gordon and Sessions next to Kemba more often tonight.
  • With the NBA admitting the refs blew the call at the end of the Raptors game the other night, saying that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist did foul Andrea Bargnani on the attempt, it raises one question (albeit tongue in cheek, and sure to frustrate Raptors fans): Shouldn’t MKG get credit for a block on the play, since he stopped Bargnani’s progress with the ball?
  • Even though the two teams have the same record, there’s a bit of a gap in their net efficiencies: Atlanta is a defensive force so far this season, and while the Bobcats have improved, they’re not there yet. Similar offensive efficiencies to this point, but the gap in defensive efficiencies would indicate that despite their records, the Hawks are the better team.
