Bobcats blow another second half lead in Dallas

Charlotte Bobcats 82 Final

Recap | Box Score

89 Dallas Mavericks
Josh McRoberts, PF 30 MIN | 3-6 FG | 4-4 FT | 8 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 10 PTS | -1Maxing out what this team hoped to get from him tonight. Seizing the right opportunities to turn the corner on dribble handoff situation + getting all over the glass. He’s one of the best ‘glue guys’ in the league right now.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF 19 MIN | 2-6 FG | 2-4 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 6 PTS | -1MKG fractured his left hand at some point in the game. I still don’t know when it exactly happened. The team will re-evaluate when they get back to Charlotte, but if recent news tells is anything we should expect for him to be out for 4-6 weeks.
Al Jefferson, C 38 MIN | 6-10 FG | 7-10 FT | 12 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 3 BLK | 2 TO | 19 PTS | -3Mavs had no answer for him tonight. Dalembert had no chance and DeJuan Blair + Bernard James surely didn’t. When Dallas started catching fire in the 4th Jefferson kept Charlotte in the game, but it really hurts this team to not have another option at the end of games. Hey, maybe that’s why they have such a tough time closing games.
Kemba Walker, PG 35 MIN | 7-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 7 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 16 PTS | +1Certainly no complaints here. The best part – 0 turnovers.
Gerald Henderson, SG 26 MIN | 7-11 FG | 2-3 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 16 PTS | -7Solid performance from Hendo and surprisingly very efficient. Would be nice if the team trusted him a little bit more in the clutch, but I understand why to this point.
Anthony Tolliver, PF 26 MIN | 1-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 3 PTS | -626 minutes. That’s something. Had numerous chances to hit big 3’s in the 4th, but couldn’t capitalize on any.
Cody Zeller, C 18 MIN | 1-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 2 PTS | -6………….
Ramon Sessions, PG 21 MIN | 1-9 FG | 4-4 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 6 PTS | -10Horrific night from the field, but we’ve seen this from him. Expected Sessions to be able to get to the line at will tonight with how often Charlotte gets to the stripe + how much the Mavs foul, but to no avail.
Ben Gordon, SG 13 MIN | 2-8 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 4 PTS | +2Of course he wasn’t shy to shoot the ball. Actually made some nice offensive plays, minus the one 3 he took was an air ball. Clifford went to Gordon in the 4th for the majority of the quarter, which was surprising, but also could’ve been a bi-product of the MKG injury.
Jeff Taylor, SG 3 MIN | 0-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | 0This guy has obviously lost every ounce of confidence in his shot and it resulted in Clifford going with Tolliver instead of Taylor down the stretch. For that matter, most of the game.
Steve Clifford
Only thing I question: Why not send a second defender at Dirk earlier in the 4th quarter?

One Thing We Saw

  1. The Bobcats dropped their second straight game in which they led by double digits in the 2nd half.
