|Josh McRoberts, PF Shot Chart 28 MIN | 4-8 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 10 PTS | -12
Just a McBob kind of night really. Still continues to be cognizant from 3-point range, so we’ll see if teams start running defenders at him a little bit more when he catches the ball at the top.
|Anthony Tolliver, PF Shot Chart 37 MIN | 4-11 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 11 PTS | -26
Well, he took 10 3-pointers tonight. I know that he’s one of the very few deep threats on this team, but that’s too many. Also, Tolliver getting 37 minutes tells you just how depleted Charlotte is at SF and Clifford’s hands are tied.
|Al Jefferson, C Shot Chart 30 MIN | 7-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 12 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 3 TO | 14 PTS | -18
Overall, the numbers don’t look awful, but Big Al’s second half truly was. Jefferson went 2-7 from the field in half number 2 as the Bobcats played the worst 24 minutes of their entire season.
|Kemba Walker, PG Shot Chart 33 MIN | 4-10 FG | 5-5 FT | 7 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 5 TO | 14 PTS | -17
Rough night. 5 turnovers and just 3 assists really tells you all that you need to know. It’s hard to imagine Kemba ever really going off against a team that has CP3 — like most, he just can’t guard him and that ends up affecting many different facets of your overall game as a player.
|Gerald Henderson, SG Shot Chart 32 MIN | 3-11 FG | 6-6 FT | 0 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 12 PTS | -17
After draining his first two FGA, it was all downhill from there. This is actually one matchup I thought the Bobcats may be able to exploit on the offensive end – Hendo vs. Jamal Crawford. Not so much.
|Cody Zeller, C Shot Chart 20 MIN | 0-6 FG | 6-6 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 6 PTS | -15
Whoa. After a decent December + when many thought that Zeller was turning a corner, the past 4 games happened — he’s 2-20 (yes, that’s 10%) from the floor in the past 4. The only thing that saves his grade in this game is getting to the foul line 6 times.
|Bismack Biyombo, C Shot Chart 18 MIN | 3-5 FG | 2-3 FT | 5 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 2 TO | 8 PTS | -9
This is all that mattered.
“We just couldn’t get over the hump in the second half. We didn’t execute as well as we did in the first and it hurt us.”
Two Things We Saw
- The Bobcats played their worst half of basketball in the 2nd last night. Not great timing as Charlotte flew to Portland late last night and has to take on the Blazers tonight.
- With two games left on this road trip the Bobcats have to dig deep and find a way to get a win. As surprising as this team has been at times this season, if they get thumped in Portland + Sacramento to end this trip that could be too many wounds to have to lick.
