First, let me note that QCH will be in the building tonight to cover the game, so please tweet me (@QCHspencer) any questions that you have for Coach Clifford or any of the players – I’ll do my best to get everyone their answers.

Tonight is a special night for Charlotte professional basketball – the team will unveil the logo for the return of the Hornets next season. Not only that, but it comes during a time when this team is playing it’s most exciting basketball of the season – the Bobcats will go for their 4th straight win tonight and attempt to even their overall record up at 14-14. Kemba Walker has scored 24, 29 and 34 points, respectively, in the past 3 games to drive the win streak – Charlotte, as a team, has logged 95+ points in the last 3.

Greg Pietras, Dakota Schmidt and myself dig into tonight’s game with a 2-on-3 roundtable.

1- HORNETS LOGO. What will it look like and tell us why you’re pumped about it.

Spencer: I really hope that they try and capture as many aspects of the old Hornets logo as possible, but I have a feeling that it’s going to be a melting pot of color schemes from the old days + what they’ve tried to do with the Bobcats – we’ll see. I’m just very excited that the fan base is going to realize their dream of having the Hornets back and it comes during a stretch of games that the Bobcats have the entire league’s eye with the win streak.

Greg: I mostly hope they keep the Hornets goofy. The old logo was a half-assed sketch of a constipated wasp in gigantic sneakers, but it was our half-assed sketch of a constipated wasp in gigantic sneakers. Familiar and fun is better than overly polished, angular and angry.

Related: I think this is the best NBA logo ever.

Dakota: You know what? It’s going to be a swarm of little of little hornets that are going after an injured Bobcat in an act of revenge. That’s why I’m pumped up about the logo.

2- PICK IT. Yet another winnable home game for Charlotte. What say you?

Spencer: You have to think that these players are excited to be back home tonight after back-to-back road victories. On top of that, the Jazz are a pretty pathetic team as currently constructed – they’re worst in the league in defensive efficiency by a wide margin.

Al Jefferson will see his former team for the first time since joining Charlotte this past summer and I think it’s safe to say he’s going to get his tonight. I’ll take Charlotte in what I believe will be an easy win.

Greg: Definitely winnable. The Jazz have the worst defense in the league, and their offense isn’t much better. Al Jefferson will be facing his recent teammates, so he’ll have a little more motivation than usual.

Both teams are on the second leg of back-to-backs, so it’s more of a crapshoot than usual, but it’ll be a disappointment if Charlotte loses this one. Here’s hoping for a good show.

Dakota: Charlotte is on this crazy and ridiculous little run that I really don’t think that there’s a way to predict how this team will perform on an night-by-night basis. WIth that said, I think that the Bobcats will win against Utah as I see Jefferson having a great night against his former team.
