|Josh McRoberts, PF 33 MIN | 2-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 5 PTS | 0
The paint was packed tonight and McRoberts had way less options when passing the ball. Forced some plays, but that was in the Knicks scouting report and they executed.
|Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF 34 MIN | 6-11 FG | 2-4 FT | 8 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 3 BLK | 3 TO | 14 PTS | -9
Was probably the most consistent player on the floor tonight for Charlotte. Was scorched by Melo most of the time tonight, but so was every guy who had to guard him.
|Bismack Biyombo, C 26 MIN | 0-1 FG | 3-4 FT | 11 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 3 PTS | -8
Blah. Didn’t think he’d play a ton because of small NYK lineup, which he didn’t. Bobcats tried to force the ball in to him some due to the need of some kind of offensive action around the rim, but we all know how that usually ends with Biz.
|Kemba Walker, PG 38 MIN | 8-22 FG | 8-8 FT | 3 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 25 PTS | -14
Somehow Kemba ended up with 25 points. Only because he is a flat out baller. Rough night overall in truth. Forced tons of shots because he had too and this looked like the Bobcats from mid-season last year. How he didn’t turn the ball over once tonight is beyond me.
|Gerald Henderson, SG 36 MIN | 7-18 FG | 4-5 FT | 9 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 4 TO | 18 PTS | -1
Speaking of turnovers. Gerald led the team with 4 and threw himself at the rim as much as possible. To no avail, because there were only about 4 Knicks waiting on him every time. Again, NYK had a game plan (pack the paint) and they executed.
|Cody Zeller, C 23 MIN | 1-3 FG | 1-2 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 3 PTS | -12
Really, really, really looks like a rookie. Getting manhandled on the defensive end and just simply does’t have NBA instincts yet. The game is clearly to fast for him currently.
|Ramon Sessions, PG 15 MIN | 4-4 FG | 7-7 FT | 1 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 15 PTS | -5
Hahaha. That’s all I can come up. Ramon gets to the free throw line 7-8 times a game as frequently as the sun rises around 6:30am every morning.
Thoughts + Prayers are with you Coach.
Three Things We Saw
- Bobcats were outscored 36-12 from behind the arc. That tells a lot of the story from this game. Not only is that a big margin, but NYK hit shots in situations where Charlotte was trying to find a way to get back into the game – continuously took the wind out of the sails.
- Knicks held the Bobcats to just 6 fast break points. That’s impressive for any team defending Charlotte in this league.
- This game is the blueprint when scouting how you should play the Bobcats. Especially defensively. Pack the paint and force Charlotte to beat you from the outside. They can’t. Jefferson will change the game plan for the opposition, but probably not as much as you think.
