NBA Swap Tool
Replace With*Inspired by the post One of the 3 Kinds of Lies, here is an opportunity to put the equation to the test. Select the team and player who is getting replaced and then select the team and player you want to replace him with. The tool accounts for player usage by predicting how to re-distribute possessions following a swap - if a player is a ball-hog, he may take them all for himself. If it is Ben Wallace coming in, some additional scoring burder is going to fall on his teammates - their usage goes up. And that is the other thing the tool tries to predict - how will efficiencies shift as usage shifts? If a player or team is expected to shoulder a heavier/lighter burder following a swap, their respective efficiencies will be adjusted accordingly. |
