Queen City Hoops Announces Purchase of Live Podcast “Hive Talk Live”

Charlotte, NC– Charlotte basketball blog Queen City Hoops has announced the acquisition of the Charlotte Hornets live podcast, “Hive Talk Live” (Formerly PodCats). Started in June of 2013, “Hive Talk Live” has seen a steadily growing live listener base and growing interactions with major Charlotte media outlets including the Charlotte Observer and WFNZ 610AM The Fan.

Executive Producer and Host Doug Branson will join the Queen City Hoops staff as part of the purchase. “We’re so excited for Hive Talk Live to join the number one blog on pro basketball in Charlotte and the ESPN TrueHoop family. We’re bringing an added interactive element to an already talented group of writers.”

The “live” in “Hive Talk Live” sets them apart from other podcasts on the scene, says Branson. “Being live allows a level of involvement with fans that you won’t get from other podcasts. We always say to listeners, ‘This is your show.’ When fans tweet us questions, we answer them. If they talk about it, we talk about it.” This year they will be adding a live call-in line to further interact with fans of the Hornets.

“Hive Talk Live” will begin its run this year with a series profiling historic moments and players in Charlotte Hornets history. Branson thinks, “It’s important as we look towards the future of the Hornets, that we step back and remember how we got started.”

Hive Talk Live gets started this summer.
