Bismack Biyombo

The youngest player in the 2011 draft, Bismack Biyombo showed flashes of being a game-changer on defense – most notably a game saving block against the Hornets. And his enthusiasm is palpable – the interview Bismack gave following that game was as much of a highlight as the play itself.

ESPN NBA Player Ranking:

Stats:

The player that fans are hoping Bismack can emulate is Serge Ibaka. Last season, these two players were among only 7 who averaged both 3 offensive rebounds and 3 blocks per 40 minutes. However, Ibaka was at 5.4 blocks and 4.3 rebounds, while Bismack was at 3.2 and 3.1.

Perspectives from around the web:

If his results in the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas are any indicator, Biyombo could be primed for an impact season in Charlotte in 2012-13. He averaged 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.80 blocks and shot 55.6 percent from the field in 21.0 minutes in five summer league games, helping lead the Bobcats to a 4-1 record under new Head Coach Mike Dunlap.
