Social Media Snapshot: The Hornets and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

biyomboiceHornets players and coaches embraced the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last week.

As you may have seen over the past weeks, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been spreading like wildfire across social media. According to the New York Times, the Challenge has raised more than $40 million in research funds for the disease, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Participants film themselves being doused with a bucket of water and ice, donate $10 to ALS research, and challenge others to participate within 24 hours. If the challenged parties choose not to participate, they’re supposed to give $100 to pass. Multiple members of the Hornets organization have been challenged, and the responses have been great.

P.J. Hairston answered the call:

So did Assistant Coach Patrick Ewing:

Not to be outdone, Head Coach Steve Clifford joined in the fun as well:

And of course, MJ played his part:

Lance Stephenson, one of our Social Media favorites, put together a video himself:

However, the top video award goes to none other than Bismack Biyombo, for dropping an f-bomb at the end of his video, which was THEN reposted by the Hornets’ official Instagram account:
