Both Hornets’ rookies and last year’s first round selection will join block specialist Jordan Bachynski and Davidson star De’Mon Brooks on the 2014 Charlotte Hornets Summer League Roster.

Bachynski has been getting a little attention on twitter for his ability to swat, earning the nickname “Block-ynski”. He averaged a ridiculous four blocks per game last year with Arizona State and finished as the Pac-10′s all time leader in blocks. Surprisingly he went undrafted, but we’ve seen players who’ve mastered one skill wrangle their way onto a team in a utility role. He’ll have his shot to shine and swat with Charlotte’s summer league squad.

Charlotte native De’Mon Brooks averaged 19 points, 7 rebounds on 58% shooting last year for Davidson, finishing his four year career as Male Athlete of the Year in the Southern Conference. The 6’7″ forward has plenty of accolades and awards attached to his name from his time with Davidson. He’ll now be vaulted into professional level competition and a lot of people back home will be cheering him on.

Fans will have at least two opportunities this month to see Vonleh and Hairston in game action. NBA TV will be televising the July 13th and 14th game in Las Vegas. We’ll have full coverage right here on Queen City Hoops.
